This game has been switch and will now be played at the New Bucks Head.
This Saturday sees Telford travel to Tameside to take on Curzon Ashton.
The Bucks often struggle against the Nash. In fact, Telford have beaten Curzon only twice in nine encounters and have picked up a just single point in five visits to the Tameside Stadium. Last season, Andy Halls (now with Chorley) hit a last-minute winner to give the Nash a 2-1 victory when the teams met in Greater Manchester in November 2019.
The Nash have finished in the bottom five for three seasons in a row, so it was perhaps no surprise when Curzon parted ways with boss Mark Bradshaw in the summer. The new man in charge is Steven Cunningham, who spent the last six years in charge of Northern Premier League North West division side Colne.
Curzon added a rash of notable, experienced signings during the offseason. Tenacious midfielder Paul Turnbull and tricky forward Darren Stephenson both arrived from Stockport County, Dale Whitham was added following his release from Alfreton Town, while the ever-dangerous Dominic Knowles – Curzon’s top scorer this season – joined from Boston United. One-time Bucks loanee Doug Tharme was also among the new arrivals.
Yet to play a game this side of the New Year due to a COVID-19 outbreak, Cunningham’s side have put up a mixed bag of results this season. The Nash won against Fylde and picked up good points at Brackley and Chorley, but they also lost 3-0 at home to bottom side Blyth. Currently sat in 17th on 16 points from 16 games, the Tamesiders are just four point above the drop with all of the teams below them having at least one game in hand.
After a good start to the season, the Bucks find themselves in a position not too dissimilar to Curzon. A run of one point from the last 15 available has seen Gavin Cowan’s men slip down the table to 13th, two points above Curzon. Three points this Saturday are high on the agenda for both sides, then.
