Match Preview
"Bucks look to halt the Brakes' Trophy run "
Match Date : December 17th, 2019 7:45 pm
Competition : FA Trophy
Ground : New Bucks Head
Kick Off : 19:45
This weekend the Bucks host Leamington in an FA Trophy First Round clash. ……….
Paul Holleran’s side were comfortable 3-1 winners when the sides met at the New Bucks Head on August bank holiday, so Cowan’s men will be out for revenge – as well as a place in the next round of the competition – this time around.
Since their victory in Shropshire, the Brakes have won just three of 12 league games, but are currently unbeaten in six games in all competitions and progressed in the Trophy thanks to an impressive 2-1 over Spennymoor Town.
The dangerman for the Warwickshire club is Josh March. A summer arrival from Alvechurch, March has bagged 14 league goals so far this season. Leamington’s squad also features a number of ex Bucks, including Steph Morley, Kieran Dunbar, Jordan Murphy, and Callum Gittings. Meanwhile, former Brakes man Matt Stenson will be keen to put in a good performance for the Bucks against his former employers.
Leamington were knocked at this stage of last year’s competition by Hartlepool United, who the Bucks subsequently defeated in the Second Round en-route to the semi-finals.
The Bucks will be hoping for another long run in the competition this year. And having beaten Guiseley 4-0 in the last round, Cowan’s men should be full of confidence going into this Saturday’s match.
