The Bucks travel to Lincolnshire next Saturday to take on Boston United. …………
The Pilgrims have made steady progress under boss Craig Elliott since his appointment in November 2017. The Yorkshireman previously led Shaw Lane to three promotions in four seasons, and after finishing 9th and 11th in the previous two campaigns, Boston are firmly in this season’s promotion picture.
Currently sat in 3rd place, the Pilgrims have lost just once in eight games since the turn of the year and are currently on a five-match winning run. What’s more, Elliott’s side have lost just one league match at home all season – a New Year’s Day defeat at home to leaders King’s Lynn.
Up front, the dangerous duo of Jordan Thewlis and Dominic Knowles have delivered 27 goals between them this campaign, while Boston also boast one of the division’s best defences – having kept ten clean sheets in the league this season.
The Bucks found a way through the Boston backline when the sides met back in November, but a second-half hat-trick from Thewlis saw the Pilgrims run out 3-1 winners at the New Bucks Head. Meanwhile, last season the sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at York Street.
Gavin Cowan’s men earned a first away win of 2020 at Guiseley last weekend, and the Bucks will go in search of another three points on the road next Saturday at Boston.
