"Telford looking for spark against Colemen"

Match Date : December 15th, 2020 7:45 pm
Competition : FA Trophy
Ground : Pack Meadow
Kick Off : 19:45

Telford take on Coleshill Town in the FA Trophy Second Round this Tuesday evening.

The Colemen are currently 13th in the Southern League Division One Central, which is two levels below the National League North. Town lost five of their first six games but have won five of their last six – including three wins in the Trophy.

Managed by former Scotland under-18 international Cameron Stuart, the Warwickshire side beat Wisbech Town (2-1) and Bromsgrove Sporting (1-0) to progress through the qualifying rounds of the Trophy before hammering Matlock Town 5-2 last time out in the First Round.

Stuart took the reins at Pack Meadow in the summer of 2017, and in his season in charge led the Colemen to the semi finals of the FA Vase and a second place finish in the Midland Premier Division – thereby earning promotion to the Southern League. Town have recorded 9th and 14th place finishes in the past two campaigns.

The Colemen have shared the goals between them this season, with Daniel Dubidat, Josh Willis, Gio Dainty, James Harrison and Kai Tonge all notching at least twice so far.

The Bucks meanwhile are likely to be without joint top scorer Jason Oswell after he picked up an injury at Kettering on Saturday. Telford have drawn a blank in each of the last two games so will be looking to return to scoring ways.

Gavin Cowan’s men will also no doubt be looking for a good performance in this year’s Trophy. Having made the semi finals of the competition in 2018/19, the Bucks fell at the first hurdle in last year’s competition, going down 5-0 at home to Leamington.

As Coleshill is in a Tier 3 area, no fans at all will be allowed to attend.
