Staff - Assistant Manager

Phil Trainer

Biography

A midfielder in his playing days, Wolverhampton-born Trainer started his career at Crewe Alexandra but couldn’t break into the first team, spending time on loan before ultimately being released. Spells with Northwich Victoria and Tamworth preceded a move to Oxford United of the Conference North. After two seasons at the Kassam Stadium, Trainer joined AFC Telford United, initially on loan, before making the move permanent in summer 2009. His goal-scoring exploits from midfield endeared him to Bucks fans, including scoring a play-off final winner to earn promotion in 2011. He moved on to Nuneaton Town in 2013, then on to Hednesford Town, however he returned to the Bucks as assistant manager in May 2018.
